Incorporated on 2nd June 2010, Just One More Mile Ltd. is a rather special company. Founded by Paul and Tracy Beattie, the company offers our clients the opportunity to benefit from our skills and experience.
Paul has nearly 30 years experience in Information Technology across a variety of industry sectors, from engineering to financial services. His experience covers the full spectrum of IT roles, from his early days as an analyst-programmer, through project and programme management, development management, change management and more recently as an Enterprise Architect and Enterprise Architecture Manager.
His first assignment for Just One More Mile Ltd. involved working with a large Financial Services company to help establish an effective Enterprise Architecture function. Taking the existing EA team as his start point, he defined an operating model for EA within the organisation, including obtaining full support from other departments across the business and IT teams, coached and developed the skills within the team, identified critical skills gaps and recruited a permanent experienced Lead Enterprise Architect into the team. He then established working practices that will enable the new Enterprise Architecture function to fulfil its role in aligning the IT and Business Strategies to ensure future investment delivers a significant and sustainable improvement in IT agility. Paul did this in just 7 weeks, and was then asked to continue his involvement with the company on a part-time basis for a further 3 months, to help embed the changes and to provide further coaching and EA leadership until the new Lead Enterprise Architect starts.
Now that Paul has passed his Cardington CBT1 assessment, he is qualified to teach the Compulsory Basic Training any would-be motorcyclist needs to take before riding on the road on L-plates. But before he can put this qualification into practice, he needs to join an Approved Training Body (ATB) - or establish his own - as there is a requirement for the ATB to have its off-road training area approved by the Driving Standards Agency (DSA). Due to his other commitments, Paul has put this on hold for the time being, but if you are interested in being taught by Paul, please drop us an email and we'll see what we can do.
Tracy has not been idle whilst Paul has been establishing the IT consultancy part of the business and as well as handling all the setup of the new company, she has been busy carving out a niche for herself in the competitive world of home-made preserves... if you've not tried her infamous Chilli Jam, served up with strong cheddar on a wholemeal cracker, you've simply not lived...
