Just One More Mile - Initial Planning

Well, I've finally decided to bite the bullet and join the world of blogging. It's not that I have much to say, more that I want to start getting used to recording my thoughts and capturing some of my experiences ready for when I start doing something interesting with my life...

Which isn't that far off... really... don't beleive me? Ok, let me explain...

In August this year, Tracy and I are heading off on our current motorcycles - mine's a 2002 BMW R1150GS and hers is a 2002 Ducati Monster M620 (lowered suspension) - on a trip round Eastern Europe. During this we'll be taking in the MotoGP race at BRNO on 19th August and then heading through Slovakia and Poland before returning home to the UK via Germany, Belgium and France...

But that's only the start, the big trip starts next May, when we'll be setting off on 2 new motorcycles to explore the world... for 2 years... can't wait!

And so that's the reason for all this blogging lark. Start small, whilst there's nothing much to say, and gradually build up to a full-on Pepys-style diary experience. Oh, and also to work out how to put the blog directly onto my own website, where we can put much more information about the trip, and even provide some neat ways for you to join in the fun...

... but for that, you'll have to wait... I've a lot to learn before then!
